Raised in a Caribbean household in East London, Amahla started her career writing songs on acoustic guitar. Learning early on how to lead live bands, Amahla has become an impressive live performer.

Often taking inspiration from her personal history of activism and Anthropology degree, Amahla manages to balance themes of love and politics with an ease only she can.
