Parastatic Album launch party with Special Guest Late Girl and more TBA

Parastatic are on tour in February and March to launch their third album Concrete Reborn, to the nation.

Please join them to celebrate the release of this amazing record.

This show is going to be the band's biggest headline and with a late license and DJs there's going to be a real party feeling to celebrate the new record.

It’s been 10 years since the last parastatic long player and they’re back with their best work yet on 3rd album Concrete Reborn, released by Workie Ticket Records on 21 February 2025.This album represents an evolution of their sound into the space where post-rock and shoegaze congregate.
Normally a band of very few words, with Late Girl’s contribution this record evokes a real sense of the magisterial, monolithic power of brutalist buildings and shines a light on aspects of the movement from the raw materials on 'A building is a weapon', the imagined lives going on behind the concrete on '(Dancing to) A modernist beat', the public disdain for the style on 'Tear it down', or the leading lights of the movement on 'Assembly'. The epic nearly-10-minute title track 'Concrete Reborn' is the ultimate celebration of the movement's ethos of balancing function and form. The lead single 'With intent' imagines brutalist buildings as entities with agency and intention, for the betterment of society.
Making the record and the collaboration with Late Girl. This one has been a labour of love for the band, starting recording sessions, shortly before Covid hit, with Sam Grant (pigsX7) at Blank Studios in their hometown of Newcastle.
The biggest development for this release has been the band’s collaboration with Late Girl.Having spent a year as artist in residence at the Glasshouse International Centre for Music, Late Girl contributed their spoken word performance across the record which is sometimes haunting, other times ferocious and always intriguing.
