QUEEN CULT
"Queen Cult are a rock band based in Macclesfield, Cheshire, UK, formed by lead vocalist and guitarist Maisie Johnson with Brodie Carson on drums and Piers Jarvis playing bass.
Identifying as queer supporting the LGBTQ+ community, Queen Cult released their fierce and politically charged debut EP 'Woman That I Know' in Jan '22. Including the singles ‘Show & Tell’, ‘A Song About Consent’ and ‘Woman That I Know’, the critically acclaimed EP garnered playlist support across multiple platforms, including New Music Friday UK, All New Rock, & Shockwave on Spotify.
Queen Cult's 2nd EP 'For Now, Not Forever’ was released in Feb '23. Documenting the personal challenges of the past few years and refining the band’s sound, it was preceded by the singles ‘Better Believe It’, ‘It Matters to Me’ and ‘Lollipop’, gaining the band their first plays on BBC Radio 1 and Kerrang Radio, as well as ongoing support from BBC Introducing.
Very much a live-focused band, Queen Cult have been gathering momentum on the road. They participated in the Revive Live Tour in Jan ‘22 to support grass roots venues across the UK and since then have supported many of their contemporaries on the road including Arxx, The Menstrual Cramps, and Loose Articles, Festival appearances have included Great Escape, Neighbourhood and Bingley Weekender. Queen Cult continue to pursue a live-first agenda, performing as often as possible."
