Bailiwick
Bailiwick's sense of beautifully bizarre, unfettered sonic exploration makes it easy to mistake them for a long-forgotten relic of the psych explosion of the early 1960s. With a kaelodoscopic far-out sound at times that evokes the eclectic rock experimentation of Frank Zappa's early work with the Mothers Of Invention, to the sonic chitinous fuzz shrouded storms with floids of reverb. Bailiwick's shows are best described as a claggy jingle thrown into a sea of distortion. Synthesis of surf, rock and psychedelia. A battle of funk from Louis Davenport, pulverising beats from Felix Parkin-Christie and nuclear riffs from Joseph Davenport. With the addition of angelic vocals, bailiwick snatches the curtain of reality out of your face. Bailiwick will take you on a once in a life time journey through western deserts peppered with punk influences, to the sea with surf rock and everything in between.Formed in 2021 in Newcastle Upon Tyne, UK, by a group of school friends who jammed frequently, who then decided on a whim to play a show, the trio line-up consists of vocalist/drummer Felix Parkin-Christie, vocalist/guitarist Joseph Davenport, and Bass guitarist Louis Davenport. Within a few years, the band began writing material bridging expansive genres and moods finding inspiration in every corner of the weird and wonderful world. Bailiwick's passion for change, began the writing of material that questions society and demands change within the world. With a plethora of songs written, the band sets out to invite the audience along on a deep dive journey down the rabbit hole of raw, free and raw energy.
