The million selling Indie-Pop icons announce their 15 year anniversary UK tour for their second album ‘The Illusion of Safety’, with a series of intimate shows beginning at Nottingham Rescue Rooms on 21st March with further shows in Sheffield, Leeds, Glasgow, Manchester, Bristol and finishing at London’s Dingwalls on 29th March. After meeting in 1995, vocalist Irwin Sparkes and drummer Alan Sharland have been on an endless adventure around the globe ever since. Initially both playing in covers bands, the pair were advised to seek out their own life experiences in order to write some original material by their chemistry teacher so headed to Spain and later the US in pursuit of inspiration. Releasing their debut album ‘The Trick To Life; in 2007 on RCA Records the band achieved rapid success hitting No.1 in the UK charts and spawning countless singles including the Top 5 hits “Worried About Ray” and “Goodbye Mr A”. Since then, the band’s debut sold in excess of 700,000 copies in the UK alone and they’ve embarked on multiple sold-out tours and graced stages at the likes of Glastonbury, Isle of Wight Festival and BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend. Now, with a handful more studio albums and a never- ending amount of stories under their belts, the band will be performing songs off ‘The Illusion of Safety’ along with all the hits and fan favourites.
