Kurt Cobain was among McKee's most well-known fans, covering The Vaselines' songs "Molly's Lips", "Son of a Gun" and most notably "Jesus Don't Want me for aa Sunbeam" on Nirvana's critically acclaimed MTV unplugged session, bringing The Vaselines' music to a new audience. The Vaselines supported Nirvana on their 1990 tour, and Kurt's admiration for them was so great, singer, Mckee, provided inspiration when naming his daughter, Frances Bean Cobain.
Frances was previously in Glasgow's BMX Bandits, a band who shared members with numerous other local bands, including Teenage Fanclub and the Soup Dragons and were another favourite band of Kurt Cobain's, who said "If I could be in any other band, it would be BMX Bandits".
In 2000 she found a new outlet for her evocatively dark, neo-gothic visions with her band, Suckle.
Recently bringing the next generation in on the act, Frances McKee is joined by her daughter on the 2023 tour which will draw on an extensive back catalogue, and we are pleased to announce Anglo-Deutsch post-garage-punk beauties Chemtrails as support.
This show will most definitely sell-out, so don't miss out!
