Motoon began in 2017 when Scott, self-titled "Soul Lover" and Mike Hesketh got their heads together over a pint of ‘Jakehead’, and we came up with the idea of hosting a party dedicated to the best of Soul and Motown music. 

After a slurring the word “Motown” into “Motoon” and staring down at the Wylam Brewery logo on the glass, the brand was created and after a conversation with the Brewery in Exhibition Park, Motoon events were born.

The party launched in October 2017 to an immediate sell-out, with almost a thousand “soulies” dancing the night away to the sounds of Marvin Gaye, The Temptations and Stevie Wonder. Motoon never looked back and went on to sell out every event for the next few years until the pandemic struck, and ever since continued with our infamous Merry Motoon and Mother Day 'My Girl' specials.

Sadly however, after years of confetti showers, Northern Soul dance offs and mass ‘Love-Trains’, over 30 amazing parties with tens of thousands joining us in the Park, we are announcing that this ‘Motoon’ will be our very last event at Wylam Brewery... 

This November party will be your last chance to join us at Motoon for one last dance, it's the "end of the road" and a chance to scream "Dont' Leave Me This Way"... All previous Motoon party goers will be emailed a link for pre-sale or general sale tickets available this Friday 27th Sept at 10am. We're obviously due to this momentous occasion, are expected to be super busy, so gather your soul gang, and get your tickets asap.
