Club comedy is coming to Oxford!

George Street Comedy Club will take place at The Wig and Pen, between 8pm - 10pm (doors open 7:30pm).

This week's headliner is Russell Hicks.

Every Friday 4 circuit acts and a pro-club headliner will take the stage in the loft room at the Wig and Pen.

Expect high drama, big laughs, revelations! It is all happening at George Street Comedy Club with a new lineup each week.

Russell Hicks

Russell Hicks: A UK comic powered by an American edge. With TV hits on Channel 4, BBC, ITV and a strong social media following, Russell seamlessly blends improv with scripted material. Headlining UK comedy clubs like The Stand, Glee Club, and Up the Creek, he’s a resident at Top Secret Comedy Club.

From Leeds and Reading Festivals to Hammersmith Apollo, Russell’s versatile hosting ranges from historic theaters to European private clubs. Arts Council England recognized him as a Global Talent in 2022. He charmed as Texan Coach Hughes in Prime Video’s Lovestruck High, and triumphed in Channel 4’s Captive Audience with his improvised stand-up. Russell’s TV presence includes ITV’s Stand Up Sketch Show and shows like Have I Got News For You and The Last Leg.

His comedy prowess extends to Hollywood clubs like The Comedy Store and The Improv, plus voice work for Sky Comedy and Great Big Story. As a Yahoo Entertainment presenter, he often opens for fellow comedians like Axel Blake, Simon Brodkin, and Al Murray.
