An annual event that has been going on for well over a decade, the event brings together women from different communities for a night of fun and celebration with dance, drinks, and music.
For Ladies, by ladies - Organized by UHSB women,
Ladies Night is back after post-covid for the first time again. To make a meaningful first event after two years gap, the ladies' group women have decided to donate a portion of the proceeds from the event to go to support Givina Magar and her life-saving works!
Who is Givina?
A teacher by profession and a social worker by passion, Givina is a 25-year-old young woman from Hemja, Pokhara. Even though when her teacher's salary wasn't enough to cover her family's expenses she used to save as much as she can to help out people in need.
She says "Sewa nai sabai bhanda thulo dharma ho, josleh Sewa garnu huncha ni wahale sabai bhanda thulo punya ko kaam garnu huncha" which translates to "Help is the biggest religion and those who help does the highest of the good deed"
In just over 2 years she has already garnered over 1.2 million followers on the social media platform TikTok and she only seems to get popular in all age groups throughout our Nepali diaspora as a whole. With her commendable social work, she has been able to help many elderly and needy individuals and their families. She has also been able to help place over 50 elders in an old age home.
Help make this first post-covid event a success, and help us help the ladies to help Givina so she can keep giving and continue her amazing work.
