Workshop and talk: Get Out of the Theatre! with Lowri Evans

Explore practical exercises and discuss creative approaches to making site specific and socially engaged art projects. Lowri is an artist based in Manchester, who makes intimate art projects in unusual places with complete strangers. Art is her way of saying ‘sometimes I feel like this, do you?’

Lowri studied Fine Art at Manchester Metropolitan University and has worked with: Salford City Council, Heart of Glass, Quarantine, HOME, Islington Mill, MITsp, The Lowry, Battersea Arts Centre, coletiva Ocupação, Transform Festival, Contact Theatre, Est.1761, WOW Festival, Martha Kiss Perrone, 32ª Bienal de São Paulo, Capital 35, Casa do Povo, Sonia Hughes, Latitude Festival, Tate Liverpool, Ovalhouse, National Theatre of Scotland and University of Salford.

In 2023 she made The Feast, a giant street party around a roundabout on an estate in Chester after growing, cooking and serving food in the months beforehand. In 2024 she created Carousel of Us, an immersive theatrical journey through a shopping precinct with the local community. Lowri is an associate artist with Eggs Collective and international producer for Coletiva Ocupação.
