Workstuff EP Launch: Workstuff, Bratislava 1988, Sean At The Hotel, Jezebel

Transmission and Quarry are proud to present the EP launch party for Workstuff's 'Half-Asleep, Devoted 2', the new cutting edge collection of electronic-crooner songs by Liverpool's own, B. Russel. Support comes from local avant gardens and experimental noise acts, as well as electronic ambient sets in Quarry's garden space in-between acts.

Electronic avant-popster with a penchant for uncovering the veiled mysteries of the unknown, via the familiar. Taking cues from midcentury heartbreak balladry to hauntology-infused trip-hop and everything in between, Workstuff is referential, self-effacing and equal-parts hopeless romantic and dramatic ironist.

Sean At The Hotel
Liverpool singer-songwriter Sean at the Hotel returns for 2023 with his debut studio album- I'm Standing in Front of You Saying "Yes!" Sean’s modus operandi is to never be boring musically, which is easier said than done. However, his rare writing style displays an array of surprises, keeping the listener guessing constantly. Perfectly combining contemporary catchy melodies, with an off-kilter mix of avant-pop, art-rock, and musical theatre. With some art-pop/baroque-pop/psychedelia thrown in there as well, nothing is ever quite what it seems. This, alongside abstract key changes and outlandish time signatures, has spawned a project that is truly, and wholeheartedly unique.

Jezebel
One of the ladies in the radiator, and Ex member of lonesaw and polexia! Jezebel’s solo work utilises musical hardware to create music that sits in the spaces between avant garde, noise and pop music.
