Cosmic Sessions: The Cosmic Collective Hallowed Be Thy Rave w/ DAISY MOON [Peach Discs / Rhythm Section]

It's time for us to shake those bones & get down to some gore to the floor, haunted house, & acid to make ya buuuurn…

On Saturday 26th October The Cosmic Collective returns to host our HALLOWED BE THY RAVE, with special headliner DAISY MOON [Peach Discs / Rhythm Section] bringing a distinct selection of cutting-edge off-kilter 4/4...

+ local support from residents Castrejo, Conor Danse, Gabriela, & Ms Ogyny.

We're bringing out all the stops for this one, with live visuals & a later end-time, as well as a prize for the best costume (details to follow)... 💀

ACID / HOUSE / TECHNO / FUTURE BASS / + LIVE VISUALS

After our undeniably pumping Bank Holiday celebration with HODGE, we thought it best to keep cultivating those good relations with our dear Bristolian brethren & sisters here at Cosmic…

We’re on a mission to host & promote artists with values akin to our own: so that an impeccable, cutting-edge dance floor experience is met with headliners executing forward-thinking musical risks, nurturing diversity & foregrounding inclusivity when it comes to the business of good-vibe making…

With this in mind, it’s a no-brainer we welcome DAISY MOON this Halloween, having watched her star rise & dazzle folk at Love International, ADE, & Dimensions, & closer to home at Simple Things, Fabric, Field Manoeuvres, & Club Banco (to name but a few).

No stranger to ‘making things happen’, Moon co-runs Housework with Shanti Celeste, as well as running her own Off-Kilter club night in Bristol & beyond. This is a woman who cares, bringing a community-focus to all she does. Moon is one of the founders of Mix Night, a direct attempt to address the historic gender imbalance in both accessing & having influence within the music industry. This saw her & others skill-share DJ workshops for other women, non-binary & gender minority talent - a programme that DJ Mag reports has now taught over 400 people to DJ since its inception ten years ago.

As a producer she takes guidance from her friend Batu, that "you can make that sort of [experimental] sound with a dance music sensibility" - clearly evidenced when you listen to her releases on Peach Discs, Rhythm Section, & Idle Hands.

DAISY MOON

Proving futurism can also be fun, Daisy Moon strikes out into the frontier of club music with an even split of head-twisting sonics and heart-rending charm.Make no mistake, her tracks bang with the floor miles to show for it, but the Bristol-based DJ and producer is versed in many different dimensions of electronic expression. In her hands, the emotional weight of forthright melodies and sampled voices refract through kaleidoscopic production and needlepoint sound design. As a producer, Daisy has demonstrated her range from the most upfront party flair to exquisite experimentalism. Her EP on Shanti Celeste and Gramrcy’s Peach Discs, System Creak, was bursting with peak time energy shot through with a maverick glint, while her melancholic broken beat excursion ‘Reflections On A Flower Garden’ was picked for the Curl Compilation 2 curated by Mica Levi, Coby Sey and Brother May. The scope of Daisy’s musicality extends to her DJ sets, which reliably lean on uptempo energy while ducking and diving into hidden pockets of dance music culture. Her scores of mixes for platforms like Crack, Fact, Daisychain or Untitled 909 are matched by her appearances at Fabric, Tresor, The White Hotel, Love International and Dimensions as outlets for the tweaked, playful club gear she holds dear.

There’s a gleefully disruptive spirit in Daisy’s selections which extends to Off-Kilter, her mix and event series. The ever-evolving concept is a showcase for under-represented artists probing at the fringes, in and outside the dance music sphere. That leaves the possibilities comfortably open for where Daisy takes the project next, indulging her curiosity and following her instinct for infectious energy.
