pool (no water),
Absurdist drama, pool (no water) is an unsettling story that explores the fragility of friendship and the deep caverns of the art world through a visceral performance devised by renowned British playwright, Mark Ravenhill.
A freak accident surrounding an empty swimming pool thrusts a group of friends into turmoil as they battle with guilt, pain, resentment and envy. Throughout the course of this bizarre production, a bubbling jealousy builds into a collective mania, conveyed through hypnotic dialogue and captivating physical performance.
Mark Ravenhill is one of the most widely performed playwrights in modern British theatre. Most famous for his hit play Shopping and Fucking, Ravenhill also co-wrote the ITV sitcom Vicious, starring Ian McKellen. He has consistently written widely acclaimed productions including Mother Clap's Molly House, The Boy in the Dress and The Cane and was one of the recipients of the V Europe Prize ‘Theatrical Realities’ awarded to the Royal Court Theatre in 1999.
