This is a party that we have been working on for years and it's finally come into fruition! Danny Krivit in Norwich, on that sound system, dipping into his ridiculously extensive record collection with an audience of just 200 people. The stuff dreams are made of!
There are very few DJs whose influence in dance music looms as large as the legendary Danny Krivit. Growing up in Greenwich Village, Danny was surrounded by music, working at his father’s club ‘The Ninth Circle’, where he met Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Charlie Mingus, John Lennon & Yoko Ono amongst others. In 1971, Danny was becoming part of the underground New York scene, club-hopping and meeting some of the greatest DJ names of the era including Nicky Siano, Walter Gibbons, Tee Scott and one formative influence in particular - David Mancuso and The Loft.
Via The Loft, The Record Pool and long time friendships with Larry Levan and Francois Kevorkian, Danny has been a defining presence in New York’s nightlife known with an immaculate list of residencies and appearances at clubs including the Roxy, Area, Danceteria, The Ice Palace, The Limelite, Red Zone, Save The Robots, The Tunnel, The World, Shelter, Sound Factory Bar, Twilo, The Warehouse and many, many others - even a guest spot at the legendary Paradise Garage. Since 1996 Danny, Francois K and Joe Claussell have been the guiding forces at the legendary Body and Soul night.
