MYP are excited to announce our next Educational event with Alliance Manchester Business School at Bruntwood Bloc, Marble Street. Jenni Rose, leading academic at AMBS after qualifying as an auditor at KPMG (and always a favourite at MYP events!), will be providing a highly interactive session on the topic of accounting and how the industry can impact climate change and social justice moving forward.
Jenni will then be joined by our very own Annie Curie, who works as an ESG & Sustainability Manager at KPMG, for a panel Q&A session. Jenni & Annie will discuss how the role of accounting is evolving, with finance often taking over the non financial reporting such as carbon emissions and gender pay gap analysis.
Whilst in isolation accounting isn't perceived to be one of the most exciting subjects, Jenni and the Q&A session will practically demonstrate why it matters and the role it can play in combatting climate change, promote social justice and how accounting shapes all organisations. Whatever your role and industry you're in, this talk will give you an insight into how accountants can save the world and inspire you to think about the steps you can take in your own role to make a positive impact.
The event will start at 5.45pm, with the talk from Jenni starting at 6pm and the panel session finishing at 7pm. Informal networking will take place after with drinks provided by Trove.
Tickets will be £15, including two drinks and with £1 from each sale going directly to our local charity partner The Prince’s Trust.
Thanks to Alliance Manchester Business School for their support.
