Internationally acclaimed singer songwriter Harry Bird has spent the last 15 years touring hundreds of venues all over Europe and beyond.
Be it Hebridean festival, Yorkshire folk club, London music hall, Dublin arts centre, German punk bar, Kiwi beach party or Basque fiesta, Harry always brings a passion for connecting with an audience and having a musical night to remember.
An experienced circus and theatre musician he is a heartfelt storyteller with a versatile vocal delivery and a deft percussive guitar style. Drawing on his own British folk roots and those of others, his performances are an intimate cabaret of song, humour and often raucous crowd participation.
His hook filled melodies, he admits, come easily enough. It is his lyrics that he wrestles with almost to the point of obsession until hammered into rhythmically pleasing flights of imagination and multi-layered narrative that he cannot wait to share with others. “Performing your own songs really motivates you as a writer”, he notes, “because you really want to enjoy the things you are singing. And if you are having fun then everyone else is much more likely to be doing the same!”
Original, entertaining and thought provoking, his energetic, feel-good shows are not to be missed.
