Well, the electro techno kitty is out the bag...
This International Women's Day DotFlex and U.F.O will touch down together at their very favourite landing strip, Cosmic Kitchen. Both nights have found their natural home at Cosmic, between them inviting guests such as Transparent Sound, Filastine, Antiself, Gridmode, and Nanobot. DotFlex and U.F.O have lots of exciting plans in the pipeline, starting with this...
On Friday 8th March we join forces to bring special guest EKATA, for a dark, twisted journey of dystopian, ominous grooves and sci-fi fixations accompanied with live visuals mixed by XYZ.
This will also be the anniversary of DJ Apache’s passing, so we want to bring something special to Cosmic, the musical hub he was so integral in creating.
This party will go off - with a percentage of ticket sales going to the local, award winning women’s charity, Trevi. Operating since 1993, Trevi's mission is to provide safe and nurturing spaces where women in recovery can heal, grow and thrive.
EKATA is a London based DJ/Producer & Natural Selection Resident who's productions are characterised by their dark, haunting and atmospheric soundscapes, driven by pulsating rhythms and intricate synth work. Determined to create music that is unearthly, idiosyncratic and exuding futurism of that of a sci-fi film, she always ensures a story is to be told in each track she produces. She showcased all of this beautifully when selected as one of Tresor's 'new faces' in 2022.
She mainly sticks to the darker and eerie side of Electro/Techno in her productions & gigs, having shared the bill with an impressive rostra including Anthony Rother, I Hate Models, The Advent, Sleeparchive, Kamikaze Space Programme, Broken English Club, Samantha Togni, Rommek, SHXCXCHCXSH, Stanislav Tolkachev, Surgeon & many more.
As well as EKATA, this female focused line-up will showcase some of the very best cutting-edge deejays the Southwest has to offer. Artists shout-outs:
Musically wise beyond her years, Amy draws acid influences from Chicago, as well as mixing Italo and electro with inimitable flare. Always steady, never compromising, she also co-runs and illustrates the artwork for her and Oyster's club night and label, Realm.
An important fixture and creator of Plymouth’s cultural landscape, Gabriela is incredibly dedicated, gifted and methodical behind the decks. Having performed regularly at some of the biggest parties the Southwest has to offer, she's also an impressive business woman alongside her sister Lucia. Without them there would be no Cosmic, no world class vegan food, or home for events such as these!
Long driven by a need to bring people together through dance, Ms Ogyny keeps her finger on the pulse, runs DotFlex, and boasts a fierce collection of quirky, left-field electronic music that spans decades and delivers time and time again.
