Pierre Anthon decides that life has no meaning, so he leaves his classroom to sit in a tree and refuses to come down. His friends are desperate to prove that there is meaning to life and so begin to create a heap of meaning consisting of their most prized objects. However, as they search for what is truly meaningful to them, they realise it isn’t always easy to give up what matters most. Soon they are fighting amongst themselves and taking greater and more daring risks in a tale that becomes darker and more extreme.
The play (like the book) is an urgent, thought-provoking and compelling piece of art. This strong ensemble piece will have audiences leaving the theatre considering ‘what does a meaningful life mean to me?’
