NE Rising presents: Rhyme & Reason
After over 3 years of our rap & hip hop open mic night's, we've decided to create an official night dedicated to supporting emerging artists from all over the UK.
For this Easter Special we'll be presenting some of the finest upcoming talent that the north has to offer right now!
Elcee The Alchemist - Named as one of adidas’ ‘Rising Stars’ in 2021, Elcee the Alchemist is kicking off
2022 with a string of releases in his track-a-week project ‘The Odyssey Vol. II’. Showcasing his diversity as both a producer and lyricist, the project is entirely produced, mixed and mastered by Elcee. The Odyssey was born from releasing ‘Friday Freestyles’ for 5 consecutive months last year, where the concept later evolved into 1-verse tracks.
Too Common - Hailing from a small town in Yorkshire, Too Common made the jump up north for University back in 2017. Five years on, he's now one of the fastest rising rappers and is ready to show exactly why he's one of the best.
Sweets - One of the many that came up alongside the NE Rising Open Mic Night's, Sweets has been moving crazy ever since making the trip to Manchester to study. Sweets has a range of gigs & festivals under his belt and his releases have been played by BBC Radio on many occasions. He also has an upcoming tour with rising start Luke Royalty this year.
Abi Nyxx - Dubbed 'Queen of the North' on multiple occasions, Abi continues to prove to us all why she got this name in the first place. She's recently supported High Focus star Datkid at the Cluny and more recently went on tour with Mic Righteous!
40KAL - Another one who came up through the NE Rising Open Mic's and various other local nights. 40 has been working on his pen and pad as well as his production skills during and after lockdown. We can assure you he is one to watch after seeing some of his recent performances.
