Verbose MCR

One of Manchester’s longest running spoken word and new writing events is back at The King’s Arms, Salford on Monday 30th October !

Verbose brings a vibrant mix of spoken word and live literature from a talented bill of open mic acts and two wonderful headliners every month. Expect poetry, prose and everything in between from a real community vibe that gladly welcomes all newcomers.

If you are interested in being part of the open mic, with a four minute slot to read or perform any type of writing, email verbosemanchester@gmail.com between 1st & 7th October 2024.

Introducing our headliners! Chanje Kunda is a poet, playwright and performance artist. She creates autobiographically inspired art about how the personal interlinks with the political. Exploring 21st century life, she aims to use art to transform lives, shift consciousness and bring hope to an otherwise stressful modern existence.Recent creative commissions have been received from Manchester International Festival and the Imperial War Museum. UK performance highlights include features at The Royal Albert Hall, the Southbank and the Royal Exchange, in addition to touring arts centres and festivals throughout the country .
