Afro Sports Day in Manchester is an exciting celebration of African culture, sport, and community spirit. Held in the heart of Manchester, this vibrant event brings people together to engage in a variety of competitive and fun activities, showcasing the rich athletic traditions and cultural diversity of Africa. The day features a mix of sports.

Where is the park?

Our address is Wythenshawe Road, Manchester M23 0AB

The main entrance to the park is on Wythenshawe Road. Pedestrian access is available off Altrincham Road.

Directions

  • By road: Leave M60 at Junction 5, or M56 at Junction 3, onto Princess Parkway; turn off onto B5166 west towards Sale Moor, then at the first traffic lights turn left towards Brooklands on the B5167, Wythenshawe Road. Drive half a mile and turn into the Park main entrance on your left. Use Postcode M23 0AB for Satnav directions. 100 metres beyond this is the entrance to the Athletics Track.
  • By bus: Bus 101 from Princess Parkway (heading from City Centre). Bus 179 along Altrincham Road (from Stockport direction). Bus 370 from Didsbury along Wythenshawe Road, or from Altrincham Interchange along Wythenshawe Road. Bus stops are located nearby on Princess Parkway, Wythenshawe Road and Altrincham Road
  • By tram: The nearest Metrolink stop is Wythenshawe Park, on the Manchester Victoria to Manchester Airport line. To get to the Park and Hall, walk east along Wythenshawe Road (B5167) for about 3/4 mile. You will pass three entrances. Use the first entrance to access the woodland (10 minutes), the second entrance to access the Athletics Track and Cycle Hub facilities (20 minutes), and the third entrance is the main access to Wythenshawe Park and Hall (25 minutes). The park is on your right.
