Viva Colombia is back and part of Colombia Independence Festival UK with an special night of Film & Fiesta celebration conmemmorating 50 years of Colombian community and culture in London!

CIF.UK 50 is pleased to present Aluna is a 2012 documentary by the British filmmaker Alan Ereira, produced as a consequence of the previous documentary, From The Heart of The World, in 1990 by the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC). The documentary takes place in a sacred territory: La Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta (SNS), Colombia, and its main characters are the Kogis, an Indigenous community who consider themselves the guardians of the earth.  This Beautiful documentary about the Kogi indigenous people showing how connected they are to nature and how disconnected the capitalist world has become.

There follows a talk and discussion about the situation today with Alan Ereira himself, the maker of both films.

The screening and talk will be followed by music and dance to celebrate Colombia Independence Day.

Direct from Colombia, DJ and local music promoter across London city, he showcases a fusion of Latin American music with a London twist; remixes influenced by world music connecting people to a selected component of its past, but it does so to give meaning to the present. with a Tropical style of Discos Fuentes' 14 canonazos bailables which are very popular music compilation of best latin hits of the year from Popular Colombian music, Caribbean, Salsa, Urban, Champeta pico style, Cumbia and Parranda vibes with a London twist. Our introduction to Latin culture start by 9pm with our #SALSABRAVA and the vibes of the golden age of Salsa from Cali, Colombia a treasure troves of old-school salsa and other Latino music warming up our Bailoteca dance floor very Salsa Cali Style and more from Colombia the land of thousand rhythms. An special focus night on Colombia brought by a second generation music aficionado of latin music and a latino reference in the UK!

On the night we will have special international guest to meet and greet from Cali, Colombia - Nilson Castro & Eliana Feijoo, the current Cali Salsa World Champions where you can know them and talk with them previous to their show next day.
