Isabel Maria @ The Ship Isis w/ Nadedja & Cosial

Isabel Maria is a singer-songwriter from Sunderland. Often compared to Taylor Swift, Olivia Rodrigo and Alanis Morissette, Isabel’s music spans indie and pop genres and is always emotionally driven.

Isabel sings live as part of her four-piece band featuring Jack Hindson on drums, Hannah Smith on bass, and Isaac Simpson on guitar. During 2023 so far, the band have played several headline and support slots stretching across the north-eastern region.

Isabel’s new EP spans rock, pop, and folk, and she explores themes of mental health, heartbreak, sexism, and love - with each of the six songs written on walks taken by the songwriter.

Described as “classy, dynamic and impressive”, Nadedja’s music has always had the power to mesmerise and captivate audiences - an uncanny, intrinsic talent first visible as a 12-year-old songwriter. UK-based but Brazilian-born, Nadedja’s alt-pop sound is the perfect blend of magnetic pop textures, compelling melodies and her ethereal signature vocal delivery.

Scribbled songs from chin-on-knees longing, waiting and wondering emerge from UK self-proclaimed ‘bedroom popstar’ Cosial. Seemingly straight from a journal kept under a pillow in her bedroom, Cosial’s lyricism narrates her relatable teenage experience and tales of growing up.

At only 19 years old, Cosial has peaked the interest of many, described by Line of Best Fit as having a ‘diaristic writing style and gossamer indie-pop touch’. With a BBC Introducing live session at the legendary Maida Vale, and plans for an all new musical project in 2024, Cosial has plenty more tricks up her sleeve.
