The Grove Presents...
Live & Local | Summer Series [FREE ENTRY ] featuring guest artists, Broken Temples, Holding Out & Ruled By Raptors
>> BROKEN TEMPLES <<
After playing in various bands together throughout high school and uni, we eventually formed Broken Temples in 2019. Our sound is best described as a mash up between Marmozets and Billy Talent, but we are also hugely inspired by artists such as Biffy Clyro, BMTH and Foo Fighters. Our songs are mostly about pop culture, gaming and just things we enjoy, nothing too serious, we’re just here to have fun. We have been very busy playing in and around Newcastle these past few months and we’ve just released our first single ‘Only Monika’, we can't wait for you to hear it!
>> HOLDING OUT <<
Formed in the wake of post-teen angst, Holding Out formed in 2016 fronted by Ellis Paul (Vocals, Guitar), finally setting on core members Tomm Money (Vocals, Bass) and Harrison Spry (Drums) in 2018/2019. Since then, they have created a large catalogue of music, juxtaposing harsh riff-driven punk against melancholic emo revivalism.
>> RULED BY RAPTORS <<
Bursting onto the scene with a genre churning post-hardcore style, that proudly embraces its metal influences as much as its punk heritage; Ruled By Raptors emerged fully-formed in the last quarter of 2018 from the economically recovering mining towns of South East Northumberland. Carving out a reputation for high-octane live performances in their home city of Newcastle, whilst balancing progressive elements, high octane riffs and a mix of powerful melodic and fry vocals; the band have cut their teeth in some of the UK’s most well-known venues from The Joiners in Southampton and Rough Trade in Bristol, all the way up to The Key Club in Leeds, King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut in Glasgow, Bannerman’s Bar in Edinburgh and Café Drummonds in Aberdeen.
