One of Manchester's longest running spoken word events is back at The King's Arms, Salford on Monday 18th September.
Verbose brings a vibrant mix of spoken word and live literature from a talented bill of open mic acts and two wonderful headliners every month. Expect poetry, prose and everything in between from a real community vibe that gladly welcomes all newcomers.

ABOUT THE HEADLINERS
CHERRELLE ANNE
Cherrelle Anne is a spoken word artist from Manchester who had been writing for over 20 years before starting performing in 2022. Her work speaks to the human condition and is centred around her own experiences of motherhood, mental health, love and relationships. Cherrelle also makes up one third of “The Poetry Place” who have created a distinct and exciting new space for new and established voices in Manchester. Cherrelle Anne has also run several of her own poetry nights and workshops, with multiple headline billings at various poetry events. Her performance style is always absolutely captivating.
LENCE
Lence is a Rap & Spoken Word artist based in Leeds who has been writing and performing over the past 10 years and we are delighted to bring him to Manchester. His creative work reflects his own personal experiences and he first started writing when he was a teenager living in care and still in school. As well as performing poetry in rap settings & rap in poetry settings he has filmed directed & edited music videos. He has also delivered regular poetry workshops & runs his own event called ‘Blur the Lines’ (est.2019) which is a collaborative & diverse showcase of 20+ Rappers, Poets, Live Musicians & Comedians based in Yorkshire, an interdisciplinary show connecting creative scenes, aiming to positively impact the creative landscape of the North.
