Formed in 2007, The 66 propelled themselves to local legend status, thanks to their unforgettable live performances.
Highly rated by music journalists, industry insiders and gig-goers, The 66 made a huge impact on the local scene and far beyond, with shows at Hard Rock Cafe Manchester, Liverpool Sound City, Numerous Festivals and Dublin Castle, to name just a few.
Shortly after disbanding in 2011, Frontman Danny Rimmer sadly passed away.
Due to fan demand and the urge to maintain the legacy, the band reformed in 2022 fronted by Danny's younger brother Liam (formerly of 'Filthy Tricks') for a one-off tribute gig. Now joined by Filthy Tricks drummer Chris Peake and the original line up of Mike Bee on Guitar (Last Bee on Earth, Gary Whelan / Love and the Family Tree) Craig Harman on Bass (Pray for Mojo) and Paul Glover on Keys (Standin Man)
Band Founder Mike Bee said 'Not many groups find themselves in the unique situation of being given a second chance, especially considering the circumstances. When we reformed it was evident the magic was still there. We're all gigging musicians so you'd hope that would be the case, but it wasn't guaranteed. The response after our return gig was incredible. Some people work all there life to find a group of musicians (like this), so in my eyes we had to continue. Thankfully everyone else agreed!
We've begun the process of uploading the back catalogue to Spotify, etc and the next stage is get The 66 mark 2 in the studio to record the songs we never did, plus new material.
