The Silver Lines + Denim Breakfast - Sunday 8th December 2024 | Sunbird Records, Darwen

Sunbird Records in association with TRUST artists presents 'The Silver Lines'

The Silver Lines’ music is alluringly raw, and they maintain the DIY punk/garage ethos and an autodidact songwriting style. They want to keep the same feeling that all bands have when they first start to get together and make music – the feeling that anything
can happen when it’s just a few mates versus the world.

Imagine wearing a scratchy hand knitted sweater and playing flat out rock n roll music in a stuffy, dilapidated English country cottage … well that’s what it’s like to be a Silver Line.

Formed by two brothers who were uninspired by the current landscape of guitar music, decided they were going to make music that turns them on.

Since meeting Kindo (drums) and George Vivian (bass) in 2019, they have consistently sold out their hometown gigs, have had plays on BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 6 Music, Radio X and have played festivals from Europe to America.

Fast forward to 2024 and repulsed by the notion of being just another ‘all white male indie’ that sings of teenage love or rants empty pseudo prophetic quotes, The Silver Lines set out to release new music that defies the genre and the peers within it. The product is a very self aware form of songwriting that covers many taboo topics from toxic masculinity, learnt behaviours from past generations, and explores personal experiences that connect with the listener on a much deeper level. Their new single, Watch Yourself Boy, is out now.

They are against the idea of needing thousands of pounds of pedal boards, synths, and other equipment. They believe that no amount of studio trickery, expensive equipment, or high level production can compensate for a well-written song that originates from a bedroom or your best mate’s garage.

In just under three short years, The Silver Lines have already broken into America thanks to two New York visits. They were on the 2020 lineup of The New Colossus
Festival with the likes of Tim Burgess, and returned in August 2022 to play a string of dates to industry professionals, headlining the likes of Arlene's Grocery, Rockwood Music Hall, and The Kingsland.

They’ve also had major national radio play, having been aired on BBC Radio 1, BBC
Radio 6 music and Radio X. The Radio X features includes two X-posure “Hot Ones” listings for their debut EP, SLEAZE, which was released in June to critical acclaim.

The Silver Lines have also amassed over 100,000 Spotify streams cumulatively on their releases, and gained a cult following of fans who readily follow them around the country to catch their electric live performances.

It’s worth noting that this has all been achieved without labels, management and booking agents. The Silver Lines have managed to defy the odds and achieve all
they have against the backdrop a nearly eighteen month coronavirus lockdown, where studio availability and gigging opportunities were at their worst in recent history

The Silver Lines are a young, ferocious, and fun band that clearly have a very bright future ahead of them." -Clunk Magazine

"Clearly gathering momentum as an exciting live band" -Fresh on The Net

"This band has true potential and a real passion and creative vision for music." -Rock Lifestyle UK

"This band are absolutely delicious. They infuse all sorts of classic vibes into the tracks from Britpop and rock to disco and funk transcending the label of ‘British indie’. [SLEAZE] is dirty, it’s very clever and has a tight, slick, original sound to it. They’re an exciting little band and they’re definitely going to whip up some controversy with these lyrical themes but I say let them." - The Graveyard Shift

"The Silver Lines distinguish themselves from your standard all male indie rock band" -RGM

Support comes from New Kids on the Block 'Denim Breakfast' -

torn riffs, upturned tales, savaging beats | Denim Breakast are a rock trio based in Manchester, UK.

The band premiered their explosive and anarchic live show with a sold out headline performance at The Eagle Inn, Salford in November 2024, a humble yet historic pub nestled behind the bricked train underpasses that render the Salford-Manchester border, and to much of an extent the spiritual home of the band.

Expect a swirling blend of tumbling rhythms from the bass and drums, platforming a spiralling, vivacious atmosphere shaped by layered guitar intricacy and haunting vocals reminiscent of 90s American grunge telling stories of murder, the macabre, romance, and revenge.

Denim Breakfast take their name from a view of the world as an open and unending expanse; a landscape untouched by time, and the imagination of a place where any tale could unfold.

Since forming in mid 2023, they have silently honed a style of music influenced by the modern pyschedelia of Fontaines DC, the timeless charm of Jeff Buckley, the unavoidable abrasion of The Psychotic Monks, the hypnotic beauty of Warpaint, and so much more. It's as often bare-boned riff rock as it is unchained free form jazzgaze; as often stirred into substance by romantic tragedy as it is a lamentation on a crime grisly and unspeakable.

Denim Breakfast offer a swung, unhooked, sharp and swaying sound, a grunged-up take on the modern penchant for freeform rock, with a taste for the gruesome tales Tarantino and friends.
