After careful consideration and feedback from our community, we have decided to rebrand as Set Starters while maintaining our core principles and mission to empower individuals aspiring to build a career in the UK’s Film & TV industry.

Our mission remains simple yet profound: to ensure equal access to the resources and guidance needed for success in the industry.

Set Starters aims to continue the original mission and plan of Crew Bible under the new name of Set Starters.

Revolutionising the path to success for new entrants in the UK’s film and TV industry. Founder and CEO of Set Starters (formerly Crew Bible), Jay Finlayson, has a personal connection to the cause, as they recall their own struggles when starting out as an extra and runner back in 2015.

“It started out with giving free CV advice from WhatsApp groups; I helped run, then I started to reflect on their journey,” Jay Finlayson shares. “I remember the challenges I faced as a newcomer, lacking the resources and guidance needed to thrive in this industry. Today, we stand firm in our belief that everyone should have equal access to the resources and knowledge they need to succeed. The Crew Bible Set Starters’ platform is designed to empower individuals, fostering a supportive community where they can learn, grow, and connect with like-minded professionals.”
