Darwen Music Projects in association with Sunbird Records present a rousing evening of quality world/folk/roots featuring "Lazlo Baby" + very special guest (announcement coming very soon).

Balkanic Ska Turbofolk!Lazlo Baby delivers Balkanic folky ska with high octane exuberance. They dabble in the delights that Klezmer, gypsy and traditional Irish music have to offer, then stitch together pounding melodies that'll clobber you with their enthusiastic brouhaha.Lazlo Baby began to play their twisted folk in 2010. In the early days they ran a regular Acoustic Soup night supporting local bands and artists, which simultaneously gave them the opportunity to perform and explore new tunes and sounds, melding trad folk with their own material. 

They have honed their craft in the intervening years and have emerged as an energetic blend of folk, ska and punk heavily influenced by Eastern European traditional music.Fourteen years on and counting, they have played at numerous venues and festivals including Kendal Calling, Beat Herder, Solfest, Just So Festival, Northern Green Gathering, Gobefest (the UK’s only Transylvanian music festival), Off the Tracks, Hebden Bridge Folk Festival and Middlewich Folk and Boat. Alongside festivals they are oft found playing at beer festivals, charity gigs, parties and folk clubs. 

Bands they’ve supported include Mr Wilson’s Second Liners, Baghdaddies, Here and Now and Louis Barabbas and the Bedlam Six.

Lalzo Baby have just contributed to The Ukrainians most recent album - Together For Ukraine. This is a 19-track album recorded by international world music and rock music artists to raise funds for projects to help Ukrainian refugees.
